1. Lapwing Nature Club

The "Lapwing Nature Club" functions very actively in this college under the leadership of Department of Zoology. As part of the activity of the club a garden is maintained on the campus. In addition to ornamental plants variety of medicinal plants are taken care of.

Recent activities of the club includes

• Plantation of saplings of trees on the college campus

• Arranged awareness class on environment protection – Dr. Joby Paul from Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and Environment (ATREE) took calss on ‘Antropocenic impact’

• On the auspicious day of ‘Njanttuvela’ student volunteers of Nature Club actively joined in transplanting paddy seedlings at Ezhupunna Panchayath, Puthenkaripadam

• World Oceans Day was celebrated on 8th June by delivering a talk on 'Living Oceans'  by Dr. Antony P.J.

• A programme was organized for the collection and distribution of medicinal plants among students

• World Environment Day was celebrated by doing campus cleaning and plantation of trees

2. Zoology Students Association (ZEST)

An association of Zoology students, named as ZEST (keenness and enthusiasm) functions in the department with the objective to provide a platform for students for cultivation of aptitude and to improve their own capabilities, competence and organization capacities. Br. Clinton J Samson of III year BSc Zoology is the Secretary and Dr. Antony P.J. is the Teacher Co-ordinator of the Association.

ZEST kick-started its activities for the year 2013-’14 with a grand inaugural ceremony during which Prof. Anu Joseph of St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam officially inaugurated the function on 30th same day.

A ‘ZEST-EXPO’ was organized on 2nd and 3rd September, 2013 for public and students of the college. The exhibition was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Johnson Puthenveettil, the former Assistant Manager and alumnus. The ZEST-EXPO was a rare collection of zoological wonders on display. The programme was well appreciated from all sides and it was said that the department has set a model for all the departments to emulate by reaching out to one and all through this exemplary commitment towards dissemination of knowledge gleaned over the years.

3. Zoology Alumni Association (ZAS)

ZAS is functioning in the college since 2009 and meetings are conducted every year. The Head of the Department of Zoology, Prof. Annie Jose K. is the President since 2012 and Dr. John Thomas Associate Professor (retired) from Christ College, Iringalakuda is the Vice-President of the association.

As an activity of ZAS, an orientation class was organised for the final year B.Sc. Zoology students by Dr. John Thomas. The student who scored highest marks in the previous batch of B.Sc. Zoology was honoured during the programme.

On 10.07.2010 ZAS organised a honouring ceremony, the retired teachers from the department were honoured during the ceremony by giving away the memento.

On 17.05.2014 a get together of BSc Batch 2010-2013 was conducted in the department.
